Worship Ministries

Liturgical Ministries are necessary and vital ministries of our parish. Prayerful and serious consideration should be given before a commitment of your time and talent is made. To participate, you must be a practicing Catholic, registered and confirmed (except for Altar Servers). Training sessions are held at various times.

“You shall worship the Lord, your God, and Him alone shall you serve”  ~ Luke 4:8

The Liturgy Committee assists in the enrichment of personal spirituality and the development of a strong faith community. The committee plans the special liturgies and events for special reasons such as Christmas and Easter. They also plan Days of Recollection, Penance Services, Ecumenical Services and special Children’s Masses.

Liturgical Environment

“To bring beauty to my sanctuary and glory to the place where I set my feet.”
Isaiah 60:13

The Liturgical Environment group assists the pastor in the planning and implementation of the appropriate decorations of the sanctuary and chapel for yearly recurring seasons and feasts. Anyone interested in helping with this should contact the parish office to speak with the pastor or the Liturgical Coordinator.

Altar Linens

“Then he will show you a large upstairs room, fixed up and furnished, where you will get everything ready for us."  ~ Mark 14:15 ~

Volunteers wash and iron the altar linens each week. If you would like to help with this, please speak with a sacristan.

Eucharistic Adoration

“I am the bread that came down from heaven.” John 6:41

We offer Exposition of the Holy Eucharist.  See Exposition of the Holy Eucharist schedule here.

“And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.”  Luke 19:6
Whenever new members register with our parish, this Committee would arrange to meet with them, provide answers to their questions, and give them a packet containing the Mass Bulletin, and other pre-registration forms for CCD classes and stewardship information. If you are interested in helping to form a group like this, please contact the parish office.

Prayer Group

“For when two or three come together in my name, I am here with them.”  Matthew 18:20

Our prayer group meets weekly, Wednesday nights in our School Media Center beginning at 7pm. The meeting includes recitation of the rosary, readings and reflection, hymns, and prayer. All are welcome.

Bible Study

Bible studies are available seasonally. Please watch the bulletin for details of upcoming programs.

“Praise him with trumpets, praise him with harps and lyres. Praise him with drums and dancing. Praise him with harps and flutes. Praise him with cymbals.”    Psalm 150: 3-5

Our music ministry begins and centers on the Eucharistic sacrifice. Always joyful and upbeat, each person’s participation strengthens and nourishes one another’s faith. We need dedicated people willing to share their time and talents, vocal and instrumental, with our faith community.

Parish Council

Parish Council assists the pastor with planning parish operations and activities. The Parish Council meets once a month and any parishioner may submit their name to the Pastor for appointment to the Parish Council.

“Give and it shall be given to you…for the measure you measure with will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

All members of Transfiguration Faith Community are called to be good stewards of God’s gifts to us. It is in this area that we realize the blessings given to us and our need to give back to God a portion of the first fruits of our treasure. Time and talent are also marvelous avenues of gifts which we can give to further our service to God’s people, our brothers and sisters.

Parish Nurse Ministry

“He received them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who needed to be cured. Luke 9:11

This ministry advocates health, wellness, health education, and provides spiritual support. Through various informational programs, health screenings and support programs, the Parish Nurse Ministry strives to meet the needs of the congregation. The main objective is to maintain a balance of mind, body and spirit through physical and spiritual advocacy.

The Committee for Charitable Assistance

Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do unto me.”

This ministry provides bags of non-perishable foods, donated by parishioners each week, to the needy in the area surrounding our parish. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, this committee collects for and distributes assistance to our registered parishioners in need.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee assists the Pastor in the administration of parish assets. The committee is concerned with parish resources, the parish budget, and development. The committee meets about 4 times a year.

Building Committee

“How I love your temple, Lord Almighty! How I want to be there! I long to be in the Lord’s temple, with my whole being I sing for Joy to the Lord.”  Psalm 84:1-2

This committee is concerned with parish property, parish support and the effective use of parish facilities. We welcome assistance from people skilled in plumbing, electrical work, heating and cooling systems and other trade areas.

Collection Counters

Each Monday morning, a group of parishioners meets to count our weekly collection. By Diocesan regulation, counting groups rotate so that each group meets once or twice a month. The volunteers gather at 8:30am and are done before noon.

Church Garden Maintenance

If you like fresh air, sunshine, and playing in the dirt, this ministry is for you. Our mission is to care for our gardens at the parish, the school, and the parish offices. If you have an interest in this type of work, please call the parish office to volunteer.
